wolves

1. Czechoslovakian Wolfdog – wolves

With its triangle-shaped head, its mid-length hair between black, brown, and white, its large ears, and its bushy tail… the Czechoslovakian wolfdog looks like a wolf. It also bears the name of wolf-dog since it is between the German shepherd and the wolf. Once he adopts his master, he considers him part of his clan and will do anything to protect him.

The Czechoslovakian wolfdog is a very endearing animal that needs to be guided to be educated. It is therefore not recommended for novices.

2. Tamaskan – wolves

It was in 2006 that Tamaskan was born. Very recent, this breed is not yet officially recognized. The Tamaskan is really between the wolf and the dog. Very tall and athletic, the eyes usually sport a yellow color which brings him very close to the wild animal he physically resembles.

On the other hand, from the point of view of character, he is very different from the wolf. Very sociable with humans, he needs to be surrounded and flourishes when he is often stimulated by games or activities.

3. Saarloos Wolfdog

This dog was born over 100 years ago. But the work around this cross began long before, in the Netherlands, in the hands of Leendert Saarloos. The latter decided to cross a Siberian wolf with a German shepherd. With its harmonious physique, the Saarloos wolfhound is distinguished by the color of its sandy or light fawn coat, with a few clear notes often sprinkled.

Very affectionate and calm, the Saarloos Wolfdog has a temperament that differs from that of the wild animal. After a century of living near humans, it would seem that the Saarloos Wolfdog has acquired a character adapted to humans.

4. Americancan wolfhound

Traditionally, the American Wolfdog was used by the Inuit to drive sleds. It has therefore been rigorously selected for its athletic side and its resistance to cold. His attractions bring him very close to the wolf.

Physically, the resemblance is also disturbing, its tail however is shorter than that of the wolf. His character is close to the wild animal, the American Wolfdog is lively and needs a lot of independence. It will be necessary to socialize it from an early age if you do not want to see your wolfdog go back to the wild state.

5. Northern Inuit

Like the American wolfdog, the Northern Inuit is a cross between sturdy dogs and wolves made by the Inuit to help them in the harsh Inuit life. Very similar to the wolf, it is the Inuit of the North who was chosen in the Game of Thrones series to embody the giant wolves of the North. Very attached to their owners, the Northern Inuit greatly appreciate the company of humans.
